Established in 1991 as a way to build stronger peer relationships among hospitals along the coast of North Carolina, Coastal Carolinas Health Alliance has grown into one of the top hospital alliances in the country. Now serving a population of approximately one million people living in North and South Carolina, Coastal Carolinas Health Alliance aims to improve the health and wellness of those residing within our region through collaborative efforts.

Owned entirely by our member hospitals, our Mission, Vision, and Values are the guiding principles that hold our organization together and foster its continued strength.

2017 CCHIE Annual Town Hall Meeting

Coastal Connect Health Information Exchange (CCHIE) is hosting its annual Town Hall Meeting on Friday, March 10, 2017, at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, NC. Staff and physician leadership at CCHIE hospitals and connected practices are invited to attend the event, which will be held from 11:30 AM – 3:45 PM. Speaker topics will include CMS compliance, navigating MACRA, and updates on CCHIE functionality. If you would like to attend, please contact Patty Lewis at plewis@coastalalliance.org.

Coastal Carolinas Health Alliance Wins Intalere Healthcare Achievement Award

MARCH 22, 2017 – Coastal Carolinas Health Alliance has been recognized by Intalere, the healthcare industry leader in delivering optimal cost, quality and clinical outcomes, as a 2017 Intalere Healthcare Achievement Award winner in the category of Quality and Patient Care Delivery or Patient Satisfaction. Through this annual awards program, Intalere recognizes successful initiatives its members implement to enhance quality and operations, improve patient satisfaction and increase community awareness and education.

CCHA’s winning project, the NEST Program, is a collaborative project between Coastal Carolina Neonatology and CCHA’s Mobile Simulation Program. The NEST (Neonatal Education through Simulation Training) Program trains staff at hospitals across the region for the care and treatment of infant patients in emergency situations, such as abruption, respiratory distress, and resuscitation among others.

Dosher Memorial Hospital awarded $450K grant

In January 2017, Dosher Memorial Hospital was awarded a $450,000 grant from The Duke Endowment to launch a community health and wellness initiative. Lindsay Maher, CCHA’s Associate Director of Operations, worked alongside the hospital to develop and submit this grant application. Read the full article here.
